Equipment with Advanced Technology

  • Inverter-driven compressors that modulate output for precise temperature control
  • Variable-speed blower motors adjusting airflow to actual demand
  • High-efficiency coils with enhanced fin geometry

Duct Sealing and Insulation

Leaky ducts can lose up to 30% of conditioned air. HEP technicians seal joints, connections, and plenums with mastic or specialized tapes, followed by insulation wrapping to prevent heat gain or loss in unconditioned spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.

Smart Thermostats and Zoning

Programmable and learning thermostats fine-tune runtimes according to daily schedules. When combined with motorized dampers, individual zones receive customized comfort, reducing overall system strain.

The Role of Professional HVAC Design

DIY shortcuts or generic system sizing often lead to inefficiencies. HEP emphasizes professional HVAC design principles for every project:

  • Calculating sensible and latent loads for accurate tonnage selection
  • Designing duct runs to meet Manual D guidelines and minimize pressure drop
  • Accounting for building orientation, window placement, insulation R-values
  • Implementing balanced return air pathways to avoid negative pressure zones

Each element ensures maximum equipment lifespan, lower energy bills, and consistent comfort.

Safety and Compliance

HVAC work involves refrigerants, combustion gases, high voltage, and moving mechanical parts. HEP maintains strict compliance with:

  • EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations
  • Local mechanical and electrical codes applicable in Oliver Springs and greater Roane and Anderson Counties
  • OSHA safety standards for ladder use, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment

Technicians receive ongoing training to stay abreast of code revisions and best practices.
