What our customers say

I use HEP for my HVAC units and have been very satisfied with their service. One of their service technicians, Doug, recently serviced one of the units. He immediately diagnosed the problem, ordered a new part, and installed the new motor the next day, just like he said we would do. Highly recommend HEP.

The tech showed up in the timeframe they promised. Curteous, friendly service. He dug around in his truck to find as many coupons as he could for me. The salesperson showed up shortly after as I needed a new HVAC unit. The install team called the next morning in the timeframe promised to let me know they'd be there shortly. Everything was checked to make sure it was working properly before they left. All trash and mess and old equipment was hauled away. HEP isn't the cheapest in town but I've dealt with the cheapest and prefer to get service I can trust for a little more. All options were explained to me with their recommendations so I felt free to decline their suggestion if I chose.

When we found out we needed a new heat/air system, we got 10 estimates. It took weeks, but was worth it, because we chose HEP. Got a great deal, no interest, for a certain time, on payments, and great service. The crew that came out, to this old house, just started in, never stopped, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves, didn't leave a scrap of material anywhere. Love this kind of service, and will call HEP again! Thank you, to the "crew", also.

Thank you HEP for outstanding performance and customer service. I called HEP and they came to the rescue and fixed my AC unit. And did it very professionally answering all my questions and explaining everything. The best part of it all was the price, being way less than I had in mind. I will recommend to anyone! Thanks again!

I am writing you to let you know how well your company was represented today. Your dispatch sent two techs to our home to investigate our HVAC problem. I was impressed with their knowledge and relaxed manor. They quickly determined the issues and presented me with the options. They did not try to rush me or rush through the service call. This time of year, I know you are in high demand. I had just paid our annual maintenance contract with our current service company. We have been using them for a number of years. Our downstairs HVAC system started acting up Saturday evening. Back in February the tech added 2 pounds of Freon to the downstairs unit and said I needed a $450.00 leak check, and he would have the office call and schedule it. They did not. That was the 2nd time they failed to follow up within the last 2 years. Then on the current service call, the tech told me my compressor was most likely bad, “it had open windings”, and it needed to be replaced. He might be able to get it to work briefly, but that would be wasting money. The ball park price for installing another compressor would be around $1800. He would have the office contact me with the actual price. Two days later, and we had not heard from them. Meantime, we had no HVAC downstairs. I decided to call another service provider. An internet search brought your listing up. That and your current TV ad campaign made me decide to give your company a try. Your techs were able to identify the problem as a defective start capacitor and a weak run capacitor. Your techs made a great first impression for your company. I feel they went above and beyond what they had to do. After the compressor started running the pressures were all in the normal ranges which indicates that if I have a leak it is most likely very small. I have decided to go with your company as our HVAC service provider. It will be up to the future techs that your dispatch sends to keep my business. If they are as nice and helpful as those today were, then I’m sure we will do fine together.

I moved to Knoxville almost two years ago and have used HEP for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs including replacement of my water service line and my entire plumbing system. The latest project was the replacement of my existing aged electric heat pump with a Trane split AC and gas heating unit. The final product was a five star installation; however, they had to come back to make some major final adjustments. Their employees are always courteous and professional. I will continue to use HEP for all of my needs.

From new system design to precision tune-ups, every service is performed by highly trained HVAC technicians who understand the unique climate challenges in this part of Tennessee.

The Importance of Reliable Cooling in Altamont

Altamont’s humid summers push air conditioning systems to their limits. High temperatures combined with persistent moisture can strain equipment and accelerate wear on critical components such as compressors, evaporator coils, and blower motors. Reliable, well-maintained cooling:

  • Preserves indoor comfort during peak heat
  • Protects furnishings and electronics from excessive humidity
  • Minimizes microbial growth linked to damp conditions
  • Supports better sleep and overall wellness

By addressing these factors, HEP Company helps property owners maintain a comfortable, healthy living space no matter how high the outdoor temperature climbs.

This thorough regimen lowers energy consumption, prevents surprise malfunctions, and maximizes system lifespan.

Cooling Challenges Unique to Altamont

Altamont sits on the Cumberland Plateau, experiencing quick temperature swings and dense fog rolling in after sundown. These micro-climate quirks create several HVAC challenges:

  • Abrupt humidity spikes can overwhelm standard dehumidification modes.
  • Dust and pollen entering through open windows settle on coils, reducing heat transfer efficiency.
  • High nighttime humidity accelerates rust inside outdoor condensing units.
  • Frequent thunderstorms increase the risk of power surges that damage control boards.

HEP Company adjusts service protocols to combat these conditions. For example, technicians may recommend coating outdoor coils with protective finishes or adding surge suppressors to safeguard sensitive electronics.

Altamont Home Construction Considerations

Many homes in the region feature:

  • Basements that double as storm shelters, requiring separate climate zones
  • Split-level layouts complicating duct routing
  • Larger wrap-around porches limiting outdoor unit placement
  • Mixed insulation levels between older and renovated sections

HEP Company’s design team tailors ductwork modifications, zoning dampers, and thermostat placement so every room receives balanced cooling despite architectural complexities.

Step-By-Step Breakdown of a Typical Service Visit
